Northern Swamplands

Blackmarsh

Borders the Rift and produces some of the continent's greatest warriors. The whole country is a giant swamp, bloated, dark, and tainted by the nearby Rift. It's residents are hardy, live off of the scant land of the swamp, many men join the Doom Guard; honoured warriors who defends against the chaotic Rift denizens.

The Rift

A massive Fissure in the earth, spewing forth corruption and chaos, unleashing monstrous creatures and demons from other realms. It spans the entire northern border of Blackmarsh, and blocks all land travel to any countries north of it. Kept in check only by the citizens of Blackmarsh, and the Doom Guard.
